Course Overview

ISO 9001:2008 has gone through the most significant revision in 15 years, complete with a new structure, new numbering scheme, new requirements, rewording and redefinition of a number of exiting retirements and the removal of some requirements. Successfully transitioning to the new ISO 9001:2015 will be challenging. With the 2008 publication only being an amendment, users of ISO 9001 have not had to manage a transition to a revised standard for fifteen years. This revision brings with it a new set of challenges. Many of the persons responsible for an organization’s quality management system may have not been in their current role; other quality professionals may not recall the pitfalls they were faced with during past implementation efforts. This session is focused on reviewing how to how to manage a successful transition. In addition, the standard is set to bring about some large-scale changes. Namely, the revision poses some serious questions concerning the new role and responsibilities of the auditor, significantly the internal auditor.
