Job description / Role
The Agriculture Consultant provides specialized expertise in integrating and managing agricultural aspects related to facility management projects. This role involves advising on agricultural practices, sustainability initiatives, and the management of green spaces within facility environments. The Agriculture Consultant will work closely with the FM team to enhance the sustainability and functionality of landscapes and horticultural projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide expert advice on fruit farming techniques, pest management, soil health, irrigation systems, and disease control, including fruits but not limited to pomegranates, lemons, figs, grapes, olives, and mangoes.
• Offer specialist advice on rose farming techniques, identify areas for improvement, and provide tailored recommendations.
• Provide expert advice on agricultural practices, including soil management, plant selection, and crop maintenance, as they relate to facility management projects.
• Oversee the planning, execution, and maintenance of horticultural projects, ensuring they meet project specifications and sustainability goals.
• Develop and implement green initiatives such as rooftop gardens, urban farming, and eco-friendly landscaping.
• Conduct site assessments to evaluate soil conditions, environmental factors, and the suitability for various agricultural projects.
• Ensure that all agricultural activities comply with relevant regulations, standards, and environmental guidelines.
• Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers for the procurement of agricultural products and services.
• Manage relationships with stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, community organizations, and facility management teams.
• Maintain accurate records of agricultural activities, project outcomes, and compliance with regulations.
Requirements:
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in agricultural consulting or management, preferably within a facility management or similar context.
• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Deep understanding of agricultural practices, plant biology, soil science, and sustainability techniques.
• Strong project management skills, including planning, execution, and oversight of horticultural and agricultural projects.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with facility teams, stakeholders, and vendors, as well as for preparing reports and documentation.
• Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards related to agriculture and environmental management.
