Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

• Ensure that the systems, Software, applications and enhancements, used or needed to conduct or support Network operations and client services are available.
• Collaborate with other Network functions to ensure availability, reliability and security of systems, software, applications and enhancements, to meet business demands.
• Minimize unplanned unavailability of systems, software, applications and enhancements.
• Design, recommend, test and implement improvements, in order to resolve actual and prevent potential problems.
• Review existing applications’ effectiveness and efficiency, and develop strategies for improving or leveraging these systems and the processes they support.
• Ensure that the systems, software, applications and/or enhancements are managed, maintained, and where necessary, modified in accordance with applicable regulatory and Network quality standards.
• The application manager will determine whether the computer systems in the company are sufficient for their business requirements.
• It is the application manager’s duty to know what business aspects of the company are in need of upgrades. He analyzes the impact of applying data systems to the areas of concern and from there, provide recommendations on whether to upgrade to a different or same system or not.
• The application manager deals with local area networks, desktop applications and computer security. He creates and resets passwords and creates backups.
• The application manager will train staff on proper use of systems and will conduct orientation seminars for these.
• The application manager will create manuals and publishes guidelines for proper use of the systems.

Requirements

• A broad knowledge of computer networking, installation and administration of networks; analytical and communication skills are required skills for this job.
• The role holder needs to have an extensive knowledge of computer networking, its installation and administration.
• The role holder needs to have computer troubleshooting expertise and extensive knowledge about viruses and the appropriate methods and programs to use in removing them from the system and keeping it from reoccurring.
• The role holder is required to have ITIL V3 foundation or Intermediate certified Experience.
• Valid Driving Licence.
• Experience as a supervisor or manager of information / Communications technology professionals.
• A Graduate Degree in areas of business, with a technology background.
• A comparable amount of related training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
