Area Sales Manager

Job description / Role

Position objective

The position is responsible for the activities of multiple stores and achieving quantitative measures of performance within stores.

Key duties include:
- Oversee the recruiting, hiring, and training needs of the store, and make efficient decisions to enhance the overall performance of the store.
- Orient new employees to apparel store operations.
- Achieve company objectives by ensuring the highest levels of customer service are provided by retail staff and ensure they have the skills and support required for maximizing sales.
- Represent the brand by maximizing and contributing to sales within the store through exceptional customer service and retail experience.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve quantitative measures of performance in the following areas: units per transaction, average transaction value, sales per month, sales per square feet, sales turnover, shrinkage control, and increase in conversion percentage.
• Set store sales targets to maximize sales and profitability.
• Ensure scheduled staff meetings are conducted on a regular basis.
• Maintain and enhance the standards of customer service at all stores.
• Adhere to and enforce company SOPs, policies, procedures, and loss prevention audit guidelines in all assigned stores. Create measures to ensure compliance by all employees.
• Oversee the implementation and execution of visual merchandising guidelines at all stores at all times.
• Monitor inventory movement.
• Recruit and train staff on sales techniques, customer service, teamwork, and other etiquettes as per company and brand requirements.
• Evaluate employee performance annually and promote open lines of communication through coaching and motivation.
• Interpret and make decisions on operations and visual standards based on store and client needs.
• Communicate business drivers, merchandise and quality issues, and other related information.
