About the location:
Steps from the Prophet's Mosque, our Hotel will offer luxury accommodation for the city's 1.5 million annual visitors. The new-build hotel will be located at the heart of Madinah and steps from one of the most historic and significant sites in the region: Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, also known as the Prophet's Mosque. Madinah is also home to the Quba Mosque, which is regarded as the oldest mosque in the world.
The Role of Assistant Director of Purchasing:
We currently have an opportunity for an Assistant Director of Purchasing to join our Four Seasons Hotel Madinah opening team!
Reporting into the Director of purchasing, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the overall operations of the Purchasing, Receiving and Storeroom Department to ensure that all departments of the hotel have adequate supplies. Additionally, you will be responsible for keeping abreast of new and alternative products in the market to enhance cost effectiveness and quality standards, and to ensure that we maintain the highest level of integrity and transparency in dealing with business partners.
Responsibilities will include talent leadership and development, ensuring all local and corporate policies, internal controls and safeguards are complied with, ensure proper authorization has been obtained for all hotel-specific purchasing contracts and conduct, managing and completing competitive bids, ensuring management agreements and all other purchasing agreement terms and conditions are fulfilled, quarterly reviews, annual forecasts and budgets, conducting quality control audits, monitoring costs, coordinating all month-end, quarterly and annual inventories and supporting the hotel's Safety Committee and Green initiatives.
Requirements:
Our Ideal Assistant Director of Purchasing candidate will have:
Experience in hotel purchasing, sound cost analysis and cost management skills, a clear understanding of internal controls, a strong commitment to services and basic technical knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles along with job knowledge of positions in Purchasing and Food & Beverage control.
You should have the highest level of integrity and transparency, strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills to work with cross-functional teams, the ability to prepare and deliver reports, effective presentations and to facilitate meetings, strong negotiation, problem-solving, decision-making, conflict-resolution and strategic-thinking skills, and a desire to promote a continuous learning environment that creates an atmosphere for professional development opportunities.
Supporting the Saudi nationalization scheme, we are looking forward to connecting with Saudi nationals who have a passion for purchasing . Suitable candidates must be eligible to work in Madinah, Saudi Arabia. Fluency in Arabic and English is essential.
