Description
• Scope of Service: Care Ward B - Pediatric Hematology/Oncology
• HOURS OF OPERATION: 24 hours per day, 7 days a week
• No. of Beds: 26
• Care Ward B (CWB) is a twenty six bed ward, which provides acute care to pediatric hematology and oncology patients from 1 month to 14 years of age. The Unit consists of four negative air pressure rooms for isolation and sixteen positive air pressure rooms.

This child-friendly unit is located at the King Fahad Center for Children's Cancer.

The majority of the children admitted to the center are infants, toddlers and pre-school age, although we do admit up to age 14 years old. On rare occasions adolescents are admitted if the patient is still under the care of the pediatric hematology/oncology physician. One sitter or parent must stay with the patient to reduce trauma of hospitalization.

Requirements

• Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Evidence must be provided.
• Current Registered Nurse Licensure from country of origin required. Evidence must be provided.
• Four (4) years hospital experience as a registered nurse with at least one (1) year of nursing leadership experience required. Evidence must be provided.
• Currently working in Pediatric or Adult Oncology nursing specialty area, or, past or current participant in the Management Development Program is a requirement. Evidence must be provided.
