The project:
Mace has been appointed to partner on a new project focusing on the events industry in the Kingdom and build cutting-edge venues to host world-class events in the culture, entertainment, tourism, and sports sectors.
Mace PMC is building up a team in support of the demands for the project and programme of works within our scope and require an associate director to form part of the Mace project team.
This is a full-time onsite position in the client’s office and eventually migrating to the site offices once these are established.

Client focus - Deliver on our promise:
• Act as the day-to-day operational manager for any design managers or other design management resource deployed to projects.
• You will be responsible for leading the delivery of design management to deliver key strategic outcomes and sub-function KPIs, directly influencing strategic development.
• You will be the main point of contact for client design issues, ensuring relationships are managed and maintained.
• Contributes and inputs into strategy development, develops plans and oversees the delivery and manages the achievement of annual business plan to time and budget.
• Assesses and defines project strategic design management delivery.
• Implements and approve consultant appointments across all work streams when contractually required.
• Builds and leads project design team (internal/external) to ensure correct resource is allocated and project deliverables are clear.
• Partners with multiple internal and external stakeholders, working in collaboration to (implement strategy/programmes/initiatives).
• Manages, influences and negotiates with key senior stakeholders.
• Act as the day-to-day operational manager for any design managers or other design management resource deployed to the project.
• Directs and presents management review data/ key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior leadership.
• Supports business development and work winning activities.
• Delivers continuous improvements in processes through application of best practices and lessons learned. Drives transformational change.
• Responsible for ensuring the identification, development, and delivery of relevant training.
• Ensures management systems are followed during project lifecycle roles and responsibilities are adhered by.
• Focal point for design issues, ensuring client relationships are managed and maintained.
• Provides leadership and strategic direction for all design engineering activities to team/s, including external stakeholders.
• Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition, and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.

Requirements:
• Degree or equivalent with professional work experience in one or more specific disciplines in the programme, project or commercial management disciplines.
• Membership of either APM, RICS, CIOB, or equivalent demonstrable professional and/or personal development.
• Necessary visa criteria for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and have relevant work experience working on high valued projects/programmes for a project management consultancy business, which are required for immigration and client approval.
• Excellent knowledge and application of design management systems, design risk management and mitigation, prefabrication/build strategies.
• Good knowledge of all design disciplines.
• Expertise in the formulation of design workflows, design scheduling and design deliverables.
• Expertise in delivering different typologies and complexities.
• Proactively manage internal budgets and fees, delivering agreed outcomes.
• Excellent knowledge of the construction and consultancy industries.
• Strong technical knowledge to challenge projects/design/proposals.
• BIM literate (BIM 360, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Visilean, 4D - Synchro, P6).
You’ll will also have:
• Membership of APM, RIBA,MICE,CIBSE,CIOB, RICS,CIAT or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development. Extensive experience in the successful delivery phase of projects and programmes.
• Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams.
• Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.
• Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
