Associate General Counsel

Job description / Role

This position will be based in Riyadh and will focus on (i) a broad mix of contract drafting and negotiation and counselling on professional issues; (ii) negotiating professional services agreements; and (iii) assisting in the review and structuring of collaboration, partnership and acquisition agreements with third party firms. The individual will work closely with and be a part of the Europe, Middle East and Africa legal team.

This position encompasses a diverse range of responsibilities including:

- Providing counsel to the Middle East Office on a variety of legal issues, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements
- Developing, reviewing, negotiating and advising on a variety of acquisition, joint venture, strategic alliance, joint development, and license agreements
- Providing counsel on issues relating to corporate matters, intellectual property, employment, and various Firm policies
- Providing counsel on issues of professional or reputational risk, including conflicts

Requirements

Ideal Candidate

- 5 to 8 years' experience with top international law firm and/or multinational corporation
- Experience working on contracts
- Experience working on collaborations, joint ventures, and acquisitions of privately held companies
- Top academic credentials
- Fluent in Arabic; strong English language skills
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Confident team player who is highly collaborative and flexible
- Demonstrable negotiating skills and experience
- Self-starter with ability to drive tasks and projects to completion
- Impeccable business judgment and ethics
- Ability to develop relationships and network within and outside the firm
- Enjoys working in a challenging, fast-paced, dynamic firm
