Job description / Role
This is an excellent long term career opportunity for an Associate level Mechanical Site Engineer (Building Services), with a top tier engineering consultancy, who have been established for over 50 years. The project is the iconic Riyadh Metro stations (designed by Zaha Hadid), which is a guaranteed 2-3 years of work! This role requires applicants to have a minimum of 10 years experience in delivering complex site projects for an engineering consultancy. Middle East experience is essential.
This role really does require a very practical individual, who is exceptionally strong with technical design, as you will review compliance of the mechanical works against the Design Subcontractor specified technical requirements supported by the companies in house design team.
- The individual must be a degree holder with a minimum of 10+ years’ experience and must be a professionally registered engineer.
- Demonstrable experience of running a team of individuals and acting as a lead mechanical engineer on major site projects.
- Ability to accept a high degree of responsibility in a team-based organization, combined with ability to work independently and collaborating closely with an office based engineering design team
- Broad design knowledge, from working on a wide range of projects (metro stations would be a huge advantage.
- Experienced technical and project leader; track record of successful delivery over a sustained period within the industry.
- Mentoring and leading others, developing individual's skills, whilst encouraging collaboration and cohesive teamwork.
- Diverse sector experience.
- The individual will have considerable experience working on complex international site based building projects in the Middle East or another international location including design office experience.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering (BEng)
- Professional registration of a recognised professional body (CIBSE, IMechE or ASHRAE) equivalent
- Previous experience as a lead engineer on an iconic project, based on site in the GCC.
- Very strong technical mechanical building services design background, with a proven track record of working with top international consultancies.
