THE TEAM AND THE ROLE

Addleshaw Goddard's global Finance and Projects Group acts for a wide variety of banks and financial institutions. We also act for many of the firm's corporate clients when they enter into debt financing transactions. The firm's Finance and Projects Group as a whole has significant capability in all financing areas (including conventional and Islamic finance) and asset classes whether it be Asset Finance, Corporate Banking (including Leveraged Finance), Debt Capital Markets, Derivatives, Project Finance, Real Estate Finance and Structured Finance.

In the Middle East, we operate as one practice across the region from our four offices in Dubai, Muscat, Doha and Riyadh. Our teams possess international expertise gained by working on complex and ground-breaking multi-jurisdictional transactions combined with deep-rooted local law experience.

Following our launch in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, we are seeking additional banking associates. This is an exciting time to be joining us where you can become a key part of the strategy and advancement of our new local team and office. The team works on a combination of premium local and international deals and there is opportunity to support on corporate and projects transactions as well.

Our partner team comprises of Amar Meher, a leading Banking & Finance lawyer from Latham & Watkins LLP who is joined by Andrew Johnston (Head of Middle East and Asia), Ibrahim Siddiki who joined from Bracewell, where he led the KSA corporate M&A practice as a partner, Homam Khoshaim, an M&A expert formerly at Latham & Watkins LLP, and Projects & Infrastructure partner Alex Sarac who completes the five-strong partner group in our Riyadh office.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, we are seeking:

• Experience in advising on debt restructurings, conventional and Islamic finance across all financing areas and asset classes and Shari’ah-compliant structured products, such as derivatives and investment funds. The ability to turn your hand to corporate, and projects matters will be an advantage but not essential.
• Fluency in Arabic (spoken and written).
• Passion for client service and business development. We have a strong culture of support and collaboration and, as a member of the team, you will be encouraged to contribute to business and practice development activities.
• You can also be expected to contribute towards the supervision and development of other team members comprising of trainees and paralegals.
