Blaster/Shotfirer

Job description / Role

My client is a leading international contractor who are currently working on the construction of a large tunnel that will form a high speed rail network on the NEOM project. They are currently looking to recruit an experienced blaster/shotfirer for the following;

Shotfirers must be able to decide on the quantity of explosives required and check blasting areas to make sure they have met safety regulations before positioning explosives in bore holes and priming explosives using detonators and explosive cartridges. Connect the wires, fuses and detonating cords to explosive cartridges and detonators, making sure they test electrical circuits and repair any malfunctions before detonating the explosives. Inspect the area to make sure all explosives have been detonated and that the site is safe after blasting has been completed.

Requirements

Candidates should preferably have the blaster license from the government of Saudi Arabia and should have experience of working as a blaster or shotfirer on tunnel or mining projects. Candidates should have Experience in tunnel blasting operation, Knowledge in bulk emulsion and Knowledge in local regulations related to explosive operations and safety training.
