Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Location: We are looking for candidates for various hospital projects in the MENA region

Managerial/Administration

• Develop the department strategic plans, which determine the objectives for nursing and allied health services and ensures they are consistent with the mission and vision of the facility’s strategic plan
• Collaborate with the CEO to ensure quality care is practiced.
• Responsible for recruitment of nurses and allied health professionals with relative knowledge and expertise to deliver quality care
• Maintains continuing quality assessment and improvement analysis and evaluation of patient care delivery and communicates with Executive team on the activities/issues of the Nursing/Allied Health Services.
• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with senior nurse executive colleagues within and across organisations within the region to collectively advance the nursing governance and leadership agenda
• Ensures just in time recruitment, selecting staff that have the appropriate technical capabilities and licenses and are aligned with the organization’s aspirations as a quality provider of services

Technical

• Create and promote evidence-based nursing practice by initiating and participating in problem-solving, policy-forming conferences with the Nursing/Allied health Services.
• Maintains close coordination with all inter-related department to ensure continuity and collaboration of services.
• Participate in various committees, related to Nursing and Allied Health. Participate in projects and policy decisions that affect patient care
• Contribute to organisational decision making that is consistent with the values, vision, mission and standards of practice and quality outcomes of the facility.
• Experience in insurance billing and reimbursement is desired

Quality & Safety

• Ability to coach, influence and mentor the nursing and allied health teams to strive for excellence in service and quality
• Ensure standards of practice are met; policies, procedures and job descriptions are followed and nurses and allied health professionals have essential knowledge and skills to deliver safe quality patient care.

Education

• Identify training needs and approve appropriate in-service programs to ensure constant knowledge updates and refreshment.
• Promotes professional staff development by setting up a program of clinical teaching, initiating research, making annual assessment of the professionals in the department to evaluate the success and setting up an orientation. Program for new staff.

Compliance guidelines

• Corresponding activities performed by the role
• Complying with Policies, Procedures and Practices of the hospital and other Regulatory Requirements
• Authorize purchase of supplies and equipment for the nursing and Allied Health departments within established hospital guidelines.
• The ability to demonstrate leadership, managerial ability, good interpersonal relationships, and the application of sound administrative principles

Maintaining Confidentiality

• Maintains confidentiality regarding patient/staff information.
• Ensures all nursing and allied health staff maintain confidentiality regarding patient/staff information.

Promoting Customer Service Standards

• CNO/DCS shall be the hub for communication regarding patient care and will promote a positive working relationship with the family, physician, allied health and others involved in providing services.
• Oversees a robust complaint management system, such that patient/family issues are resolved as close to the source as is practicable
• Adhering to the Occupational Health and Safety, Materials Management and Maintenance Standards
• Recommends the modification, addition, or deletion of personnel policies to ensure reasonable hours and acceptable working conditions to provide patient care coverage.
• Establish and manage relationships with external agencies related to medical safety programs, including but not limited to purchasers, government agencies, and other stakeholders

Ensuring Personal Effectiveness

• Maintain a positive work environment for staff and promote team efforts, promote and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience in a managerial position in a hospital, of which at least 5 years in an Assistant Director of Clinical Services (or ADON) role in the MENA region
• Knowledge of local nursing and allied health regulations.

Additional Requirements / Remarks

• Languages: English mandatory, with additional fluency in Arabic and French being added value
• The ability to influence and implement change.

• Excellent leadership skills.
• Able to relate to people from different cultural backgrounds.

Salary Package:

• Package offered will depend on experience, qualifications, the size and location of the project.
