Job description / Role
The Chief of Staff is a strategic partner to the CEO, responsible for enhancing organizational efficiency and aligning cross-functional initiatives with corporate objectives. This role involves supporting the CEO in decision-making, managing strategic projects, and ensuring effective communication across the organization. The Chief of Staff will act as a trusted advisor, facilitator, and liaison between the CEO and key stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Support:
• Work closely with the CEO to develop, implement, and monitor strategic initiatives.
• Assist in prioritizing and managing the CEO’s agenda, ensuring focus on high-impact activities.
• Conduct research and provide insights to support data-driven decision-making.
Project Management:
• Oversee the execution of key corporate projects and ensure alignment with company goals.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver outcomes on time and within scope.
• Monitor project progress, identify bottlenecks, and recommend solutions to maintain momentum.
Executive Communication:
• Serve as a primary point of contact for communication between the CEO and internal/external stakeholders.
• Draft reports, presentations, speeches, and other materials on behalf of the CEO.
• Ensure consistency and clarity in messaging across all channels.
Operational Efficiency:
• Optimize processes and workflows within the CEO’s office to enhance productivity.
• Identify opportunities for operational improvements and lead their implementation.
• Ensure timely follow-up on key initiatives, decisions, and actions.
Stakeholder Engagement:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, board members, government agencies, and industry partners.
• Represent the CEO in meetings and events when required, ensuring alignment with corporate values and objectives.
Team Leadership and Collaboration:
• Mentor and guide junior staff within the executive office, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Act as a bridge between the CEO and other executives to facilitate effective teamwork.
Requirements:
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Mining Engineering, or a related field.
• Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a similar discipline is highly preferred.
Experience:
• 10+ years of experience in a strategic, operational, or leadership role, preferably within the mining or natural resources sector.
• Proven experience working closely with senior executives or in a similar Chief of Staff role.
• Strong understanding of corporate governance, project management, and strategic planning.
Skills:
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in using project management tools and business analytics software.
