Primary objective To provide management and leadership of all activities associated with process engineering project execution, including design development, construction, commissioning or plant operation. Specific Accountabilities
- Provides overall leadership in the maintenance of a safe work places.
- Delivers leadership that ensures that engineering design outcomes are safe in terms of construction, commissioning operation and future decommissioning. Focused on delivering environmentally sustainable outcomes for all endeavours of the Discipline.
- Supervise and provides overall leadership and motivation for the Process Engineering Team in terms of supervision and skill development of the Discipline Engineers (resourcing, motivation, goal setting, budgeting and time management).
- Leads and sets direction for the delivery of advanced Process Engineering solutions for complex plant. Ensures conformance with WorleyParsons EMS guidelines and procedures.
- Provides clear direction, delegation, coordination and technical guidance to Process Engineering and design activities, and leads the improvement of Company Standards and process design methods.
- Through work processes, staff allocation and peer reviews ensures that relevant documentation for project undertakings are prepared to the required standards and defined project protocols
- Ensures continuous improvement methodologies through considering alternative design concepts, constructability and operability factors, and the application of Lessons Learnt, and strives to deliver improvements.
- Manages the recruitment of Process Engineers, and promotes the development/training/mentoring by senior, experienced Engineers of the less experienced Process Engineers and Graduates.
- Performs appraisals of Process Engineering staff and confirms performance against agreed development targets and attends to staff capability development
- Interfacing with key Customers and Vendor representatives. Works to resolve conflicts if they arise.
- Participates and contributes to senior management strategic activities
- Promotes collaboration and sharing of knowledge


Requirements

- Educational requirements: Degree in Chemical/Process Engineering.
- Professional qualifications: Chartered Engineer (IChemE, IEAust or equivalent), Professional Engineering Registration.
- Work experience: 15 years minimum engineering practice, including 12 years of design experience in process engineering in the oil and gas, mineral or general process engineering areas.
- Industry specific experience: Comprehensive experience gained in design, process plant site activities including construction, commissioning, training, operations and maintenance of complex plants.
- Other skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office, e-mail, and Intranet/Internet services. Competent with WorleyParsons EMS (Enterprise Management System) and WKS Knowledge Systems. Extensive experience in conceptual and detailed design and in applying EDS/CAD systems, process simulation packages (such as HYSYS and PRO/11).
- Advanced communication skills; both oral and written; (both received and delivered).
- Capability in planning and scheduling.
- Management skills: Strong capabilities in planning, recourse utilisation, prioritizing and time management.
- Leadership capabilities and attributes: Has extensive capabilities in leadership, and demonstrable interpersonal skills.
- Capable of motivating and encouraging all Process Engineering reports.
- Able to challenge, attract respect and create a positive - success seeking culture.
- Specific knowledge requirements: Has a sound capabilities in interpreting and applying local and international Engineering Design Codes and Regulations, WorleyParsons and Customer specified Standards/specifications and methodologies.
- Competent with procedures for the preparation and checking of calculations, document and drawings for complex plants.
