Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Claims Manager is responsible for the management of claims preparation and analysis of the contracts throughout Saudi and also leading the relevant project and support service teams on claims understanding and contribution.

* Development of unified and project-specific claims strategies
* Undertaking and leading research, review, analysis and presentation of relevant claims preparation and defense data
* Overseeing the drafting and review of correspondence, narratives, contracts, quantum and delay products for submission to engineers, clients and subcontractors
* Analyzing, compiling and summarizing records in substantiation of claim rebuttals
* Acting as a further point of escalation if/when issues arise within department
* Guide and lead team members in technical skill development
* Objectively identifying and selecting appropriate methodologies for claim preparation /and analysis
* Providing advice to internal team/s on the best practice of managing elements within contracts and associated claims or delays
* Managing and guiding relevant team/s on all aspects of claims management in accordance with specific contract and subcontract conditions, within Saudi.
* Preparing and assessing claims with limited support
* Presenting claim preparation or defense findings to senior management and project management teams, as required or requested
* Establishing and operating within department budget
* Managing department expenditure and producing relevant expenditure reports as required
* Developing and cultivating effective and professional network opportunities through relevant means, such as construction/legal-related forums and professional members’ meetings

Requirements

* Minimum of 10 years’ experience within contracts administration, contracts management and/or claims preparation and management, within the UAE.
* Demonstrable experience in successful claims preparation and defence
* Knowledge of construction methodology
* Educated to masters level or equivalent within the recognised disciplines: Construction Law and Arbitration
* Valid membership of a relevant construction professional body
