Cloud Architect

Job description / Role

• Platform Provisioning of Anthos , GCP & OCI
• Platform Scalability and Enhancement
• Installation and configuration of new Google Anthos clusters (all environments), validation of the installation and sanity tests to confirm that the platform is ready for usage. Validation of the Anthos platform configurations at a functional/integration level to ensure readiness. Strong collaboration with internal teams for compute resource dimensioning and provisioning.
• Application Onboarding
• Providing services for application onboarding starting from capacity assessment to application deployment and go-live / post go-live (complete lifecycle) support on Anthos. Providing support to Bank’s existing and new applications hosting and migration to Anthos.

• Platform & cluster management and provisioning activity: Kubernetes Cluster administration and management (namespace, service mesh, quota, Scalability, IAM, policy, Pod Networking, Service Routing, State Probes, Monitoring, Backups, Alerting, Logging & Analysis and change as per ITIL policy).
• Performance management, resource optimization, and capacity management.
• Platform Support for Deployment: Maintaining Platform Deployment Pipeline, extending support to Application Deployment pipeline
• Standard platform patching, security patching, ensuring compliance.
• Provide support to Development / Application team during release management, DevOps pipeline and DR drills
• System Health & Availability Management such as cluster, pods & nodes and integration points.
• Review of logs to identify Root Cause Analysis and Carry out dump analysis if required.
• Support in Business Continuity / Disaster Management drills.
• Support my client with troubleshooting and resolution of issues related to the DevOps pipeline
• Cluster and Pods Updates & Provisioning
• Creation of new Kubernetes clusters (as required in line with provided design requirements)
• Image management (Building Container Images, Repositories and CD pipelines)
• Providing continuous platform automation
• Continuous integration with ecosystem tools such as security, monitoring etc.
• Integrate Anthos with public cloud to support hybrid-cloud architecture.
• Troubleshooting support issues & performance by coordinating with Infrastructure team for any underlying infrastructure issues (VM, OS, Storage, Network or Backup)
• Incident Alerting , Troubleshooting and resolution (Ticket/Incident Handling, Auto/user generated tickets & Implement standard changes.
• Timely escalation and follow-up with Google in case of bug/product related issues.

Day-2 Cluster Operations (50 %)

SME Consulting & Support (40 %)
• Provide support to Development / Application team during release management, DevOps pipeline and DR drills.
• Act as a SME for Kubernetes and Service Mesh to enable Application team to deploy best curated design on the platform.
• Provide guidance on the capabilities of various platform components and best practices to EA, ISR and Application development team as required.
• Participate in the design workshops for various applications and changes in the bank to align the platform roadmap accordingly.

Innovation & Documentation (10 %)
• Create or Update the how-to documents for the internal team consumption on any significant repetitive tasks.
• Contribute and own (as required) the design document of the Anthos platform as per the perceived roadmap ahead.
