Commercial and Contracts Director

Job description / Role

Randstad is searching for an experienced Commercial and Contracts Director to lead the commercial strategy, contract management, and risk mitigation efforts on a multibillion SAR development in Riyadh, KSA.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with company objectives to drive business growth and profitability.
- Lead contract negotiations, drafting, and management to ensure favorable terms and minimize risks.
- Oversee procurement processes and supplier relationships to optimize cost efficiency and quality.
- Collaborate closely with project teams to monitor contract performance and resolve any commercial issues promptly.
- Manage and mentor the commercial and contracts team to enhance their capabilities and performance.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements relevant to construction contracts in Saudi Arabia.
- Conduct risk assessment and develop mitigation strategies related to contracts and commercial activities.
- Provide regular reports and commercial insights to senior management to support strategic decision-making.

- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Business, Law or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 20 years experience in commercial and contract roles within the construction industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
- 80% of career working in tier one construction businesses
- Strong knowledge of Middle East construction laws, regulations, and standard contract forms.
- Proven track record in contract negotiation, dispute resolution, and risk management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical skills and commercial acumen with attention to detail.
- Fluency in English

Salary:
SAR 90,000 to 100,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
