Construction Manager - Roofing

Job description / Role

The Senior Construction Manager oversees day-to-day Construction, implementation of the overall design, tracks progress, make recommendations regarding recovery schedules, value engineering of design elements, evaluate the overall risk of the project, and work with team members in improving safety.
The Senior Construction Manager is required to have experience in roofing works on heavy steel structures, the interfaces with structural steel, performance roof, waterproofing, architectural, and aesthetic roofing.

The successful candidate will lead/support Project Delivery, taking responsibility with a focus on project delivery.
• This position requires experience and a working knowledge of roofing works and interfaces with steel structure
• Estimation of time and material requirements, develop budgets, manage cost and subcontractors, and ensure that all contract terms and obligations of assigned projects are maintained.
• Coordinate and direct the roofing contractor and subcontractors. Select tools, materials, and equipment and track inventory, review the work progress on daily basis. Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques
• Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status, plan to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones, obtain permits and licenses.
• Understanding of contracts and able to effectively mitigate related risks, understands claim avoidance and when necessary, claim handling from Construction point of view. Meet contractual conditions of performance.
• Manages quality, time, costs, and provision of information
• Full responsibility for reporting and escalating nonconformities to Senior PM and AD.
• Responsible for the site safety supervision by participating in creating, implementing, and securing the site safety plan.
• Responsible to ensure the Contractors are following the site safety plan in all HSE-related activities on site.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements
• 12 years of experience in construction, of which a minimum of 3 years on airport projects.
• Knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods on Airport Projects.
• Competent in conflict and crisis management, leadership, and human resources management skills
• Excellent time and project management skills
• Professional Qualification – Civil Engineering Degree/Project Management/Degree in Construction.
• Working understanding of Engineering drawings and Contracts.
