Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The position is for a highly motivated and committed individual to undertake a key role as a full/part time consultant in Nuclear Medicine with the view of promoting and establishing a referral scale nuclear medicine center in Hospital.The consultant is expected to have expertise in the specialty of Nuclear Medicine, including PET & CT imaging.

Accountable for the use of radionuclides in diagnostic imaging, in treating disease, and for a variety of NM procedures.

Manage Nuclear Medicine Services in Hospital.

Responsibilities
- Provide the highest quality Nuclear Medicine services in his/her respective field,
- Provide timely, quality services for Nuclear Medicine., providing a local, regional, national and international service,
- Liaise effectively with colleagues in other areas., departments, and programs on clinical issues, research and service provisions as appropriate;
- Work with Nuclear Medicine technologists, physicists, radio-chemists and other staff and managers to ensure that established quality assurance and quality practice guidelines and standards are maintained;
- Participate in new initiatives, and optimization of workflow,
- Participate in the education of medical and ancillary Nuclear Medicine Radiology staff and other learners so that they achieve competence and learning objectives
- Function in compliance with Hospital rules and regulations,
- Participate In needs assessments, and recommendations for acquisition of capital equipment;
- Initiate and participate in research activities.
- Participate fully in teaching and training of Nuclear Medicine & Radiology staff

Requirements

- Graduate of a medical school recognized by the medical council of the country of origin with completion of appropriate internship and residency programs.
- Postgraduate or equivalent qualification, based on residency training program, preferably with a fellowship accepted by Saudi Council for Healthcare Specialties.
- Three to Five year's experience of the same field before joining the HMG
- Subspecialty degree or structured subspecialty training preferred
- Clinical/technical skills in his/her specialty
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to cope with developments/ change and stress
- Ability to make independent and appropriate decisions
- Specific expertise and interest in standard Nuclear Medicine techniques as well as in PET-CT imaging studies.
- Mandatory BLS certification
- ACLS certification would be advantage
- Computer literacy
