Employment: Full Time

Cost Controller - Dammam, Saudi Arabia

Maximizes return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems for accurate tracking of the costs of services. The cost controller must have a thorough knowledge of the company's industry to ensure that the company remains competitive.

Main duties and responsibilities:
- Track and analyze cost activities, forecasting and budgeting.
- Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, contract negotiations and various performance analyses.
- Explore opportunities for revenue maximization and cost reduction and ensure implementation.
- Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations.
- Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics.
- Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management.
- Provide for a system of management cost reports.
- Coordinate with department heads to solve variances to budget and direct the cost trend to match the company target.
- Assist CFO in evaluating new projects and issuing financial feasibility studies.
- Lead particular cost saving projects to ensure that highlighted areas are fulfilling the recommended planes with corrective actions in place and target is accomplished on time.
- Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner.
- Ensure that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable.
- Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly.
- Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed.
- Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis.
- Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions.
- Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants.
- Monitor collection and ensure to keep days in receivable on target.
- Comply with government reporting requirements.

Key Skills and Competencies:

Finance Management:
- Strong cost accounting experience.
- In-depth working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- The ability to work in an environment with rapidly changing priorities.
- Experience of preparing Management Accounts.
- Computer literate and highly proficient in the use of MS Excel.

Personal

Requirements

- Bachelor / Master Degree in finance, accounting, or another related field.
- Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation.
- Economics, Accounting knowledge and reporting of financial data.
- Strategic planning and resource allocation.
- Five years experience within a container terminal environment.
