Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

We are currently looking for an experienced Crewing Supervisor to join a client in Saudi Arabia with a large fleet of offshore vessels.

• The main purpose of the Crewing Supervisor’s job is to ensure that Company vessels are manned in a timely and cost-effective manner and are in compliance with all relevant regulations
• Ensures that all vessels are properly manned as per client contracts and regulatory requirements
• Makes sure that the recruited crew have the proper experience, certifications, and are medically fit, and supervises the application of the STCW convention onboard the vessels
• Controls the crew recruitment process, and makes sure that all submitted certificates and documentation are properly verified
• Evaluates audits, and recommends crewing agencies and crew training centres
• Ensures the proactive update of the crewing database with the prequalified crew for future recruitment
• Monitors the execution of the crew appraisal process and ensures that all appraisal results are properly analyzed by the Crewing Coordinators for recommendations and further actions
• Prepares and maintains the rotational plan for the entire fleet
• Plans and follows-up on crew transfers and ensures execution as per the safety guidelines
• Controls the crewing payroll process and ensures that the payroll journal is correct and that salaries are transferred promptly
• Ensures the validity of certifications on board the vessels as per ISM, ISPS, and MLC requirements
• The HSE team ensures the proper execution of the Safety Management System (SMS) onboard the allocated vessels
• Performs miscellaneous tasks as assigned by his/her direct manager
• Leads direct, evaluates and develops the Crewing team to ensure that objectives are reached
• Is responsible for the development, performance appraisal and succession planning of all direct and indirect reports
• Identify possible successors for self. Oversee and implements his development program(s) that support the Crewing department objectives and foster highly effective management and leadership structure.\
• Identifies and tracks KPIs for his function and devises plans and initiatives for operational improvements

Requirements

• At least 7 years of experience in the maritime sector
• At least 3 years in crew management
• Gulf experience, Aramco experience would be a plus
• Leadership, interpersonal, communications, negotiations, and management skills
• Knowledge of crewing regulations (including flag state requirements, MLC, STCW, etc.)
• Computer literacy, including knowledge of MS office applications and basic software applications. ERP knowledge is a plus
