Employment: Full Time

The pipeline and opportunities for strategic and major projects in UAE for Atkins Transport & Infrastructure (T&I) Division are significant. An opportunity exists for a driven, ambitious and self-motivated person to take a critical role in growing Atkins T&I Rail Business across Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will work closely with the Saudi Arabia Clients of T&I in wining work in the region for the Rail sector.

The Depot Equipment Expert will fulfil the following tasks:
- Lead Rolling Stock reviews of data and reports prepared by the Operator as required by the Client, developing trend information and making recommendations to decrease rolling stock equipment failures.
- Participate in quality inspections for maintenance works and sign off Requests for Inspections (RFI) in case of acceptance on behalf of the Client.
- Attend audits all aspects of safety and security as per O&M Contract and per approved Operator safety plans and make recommendations to mitigate and/or resolve contract compliance issues.
- Review and provide comments and recommendations on the Operator’s plans and procedures related to the operations and maintenance including but not limited to:
- Maintenance programs, plans and procedures;
- Operation plans and timetables;
- Operation procedures and regulations;
- Safety plans;
- Training and staffing plans;
- Configuration management plans.

Technically the consultant shall provide the following in relation to Depot Equipment:
- Provide technical oversight of the Operator’s O&M standards covering Depot Equipment;
- Review and comment on the Operator’s technical submittals, including, but not limited to:
- Risk assessments for proposed corrective and preventative maintenance work which could impact passenger service or damage the Metro assets;
- Engineering investigation reports generated by the Operator due to system or component failures and incidents;
- Accident and incident investigation reports submitted by the Operator;
- Temporary change authorization requests from the Operator to modify and or replace any system component;
- Engineering change notice requests from the Operator to implement system modifications.
- Use technical expertise to provide recommendations on improvements to the operations and maintenance rail projects

Requirements

- Have a minimum 20 years’ experience in the railway sector with emphasis railway operations and maintenance of rolling stock as well as depot equipment;
- Should have completed at least two railway projects within the last 10 years;
- Have at least 5 experience in railway operation consultancy services;
- Must have worked on at least one O&M supervision project in the railway industry;
- Have work experience in Saudi Arabia or another GCC country;
- Hold at least a Master Degree in Engineering (or equivalent)
