Title: <br>Design Coordinator<br><br>Design Manager <br><br>LOCATION <br><br>Riyadh, Saudi Arabia <br><br>PROJECT DESCRIPTION <br><br>The project is a major infrastructure programme for a mixed-use development aiming to be a global landmark recognized for its unique vision and position as an authentic destination in Riyadh. The community will be a distinct, self-sustaining hub for Riyadh offering several iconic assets. KBR will provide Project Management Consultancy services in project planning, controls, design and engineering management, and implementation of the development and early works packages. <br><br>THE ROLE <br><br>Reporting directly t o the Senior Design Manager . <br><br>The Design Manager will be required to provide input to the senior management on design delivery related matters and be fully responsible for the successful delivery of their assigned services and/or project component, for the duration of the Services. <br><br>The Design Manager will be required to act as the single focal point of contact for design related matters between the Senior Design Manager and the other senior leadership roles and both internal and external delivery team members, to ensure the integrated management of the project. <br> The Design Manager will work in coordination with the project management team to ensure the project's design stage objectives are met. <br><br>MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES <br> - <br> Manage all aspects of the infrastructure design production process to ensure the overall design is aligned to and directly supports the achievement of program's strategic objectives. <br> - <br> Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to manage the design and its approval, across the project stakeholders. <br> - <br> Assist the Senior Design Manager in the preparation of a detailed project plan, as part of the Project Management Plan, for the infrastructure design phases of the program. <br> - <br> Assist the Senior Design Manager to procure adequate resources to achieve project objectives in planned timeframes. <br> - <br> Manage the day-to-day infrastructure design monitoring activities and resources and actively participate in the design team meetings. <br> - <br> Monitor staff performance. <br> - <br> Ensure that all infrastructure design related project KPIs, targets, directions and instructions are communicated to all relevant project stakeholders in a clear and timely manner. <br> - <br> Provide status reporting regarding infrastructure design milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues, communicating across leadership. <br> - <br> Participate and/or drive feasibility studies, vendor selections and proposals for evaluation by appropriate key stakeholders <br> - <br> Act as an internal quality control check for the infrastructure design documentation <br> - <br> Confirm that the Scope of Work (Infrastructure Design) to achieve the project objectives is understood and agreed by all relevant parties and that 'scope gaps' are identified and addressed with the Client and relevant parties. <br> - <br> Managing the design process using commercial, contractual, programme/time awareness and technical expertise <br> - <br> Ensure the design process recognizes current KSA legislation, standards and codes of practice where appropriate. <br> - <br> Manage the Design Review process. <br> - <br> Ensure that designs are proceeding according to scope, schedule, budget and quality standards <br> - <br> Manage design issues and risks to mitigate impact to baseline program <br> - <br> Extensive understanding of project and program management principles, methods and techniques <br><br>EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE <br> - <br> BSc, engineering, architecture or equivalent. <br> - <br> Minimum of 15 years overall experience <br> - <br> Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role <br> - <br> Minimum of 5 years working in Middle East <br> - <br> Experience managing the facilities design, or the planning and coordination of capital projects that included the overall design, contract administration, cost estimating, and scheduling activities <br> - <br> Knowledge of operational aspects of civil & infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, and utilities with experience in construction management and practice <br> - <br> Excellent r eport writing and communication skills <br> - <br> A high standard of spoken and written English should be a requirement <br> - <br> User of MS Office <br><br>COMPETENCIES <br> - <br> Energetic <br> - <br> Motivated <br> - <br> Dynamic <br> - <br> I nterpersonal and communication skills <br> - <br> Accepts responsibility <br> - <br> Planning & organising <br><br>
