Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Responsible for the independent operation of ultrasound machines and can independently perform scanning examination and effectively manage to report the results of such diagnostic examinations.

The sonographer must maintain a high standard of medical ethics at all times, patient care and privacy being of utmost importance.

Should be highly vigilant in daily operations including patient care, equipment maintenance, and quality assessment and reporting of equipment failure.

Job Responsibilities / Duties
- Perform all requested sonographic examinations as ordered by the physician according to the clinical information provided.
- Patient’s data should be entered correctly into the system thru MediTex and Digital Communication ( DICOM ).
- Use sonographic skills during scanning to identify and record the required anatomical images and accurately differentiate between normal and pathological findings.
- Analyze sonograms, correlate obtained sonographic information with the given clinical history and communicate with the patients’ physician.
- Send preliminary reports after careful analysis of the sonograms recorded and convey the correct findings to the physicians.
- Maintain a daily log book of patients scanned, interesting cases performed and of the billing forms.
- Maintain ultrasound equipment along with a clean aseptic work area and ensure that adequate supplies are available at all times.
- Coordinate with other staff members to ensure appropriate patient care is met with.
- Assume responsibility for the safety as well as mental and physical well-being of the patient in the sonography room and departmental area.
- Avoid unnecessary chatting and side talking in foreign language in front of the patient.
- Perform other job related duties as assigned by the departmental supervisor.
- Violation of any of the above points would lead to necessary action against the sonographer in charge

Requirements

- Must be a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology.
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in the Ultrasound.
- Must be competent in OB-Gynae ultrasound.
