Title: Digital Applications Architect
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Digital Applications Architect to join the Portfolio Management Office (PMO). The candidate's primary role will be focused on shaping the program's digital transformation. The candidate will leverage deep expertise in digital platform technology and extensive experience in mega project portfolio management platforms/tools to support all portfolio levels (PMO/PMCs/EPCs/etc.). The role is primarily focused on developing digital platform solution strategies/roadmaps, conducting market surveys, and shortlisting candidate digital platform vendors, as well as designing platform integration for varied digital applications.
Responsibilities:
As the successful candidate, you will be required to perform the following:
- Develop digital platform and integration technology strategy, platform reference architecture, and platform data architecture management for the identified modules.
- Develop data analytic technology strategy capitalizing on AI/ML technology offerings for leveraging data analytics and business intelligence tools.
- Develop Digital Twin governance framework across all project portfolio levels (PMCs & EPCs).
- Develop Advanced Work Package (AWP) governance framework across all project portfolio levels (PMCs & EPCs).
- Develop Class Library governance framework (engineering tag data management system) across all project portfolio levels (PMCs & EPCs).
- Design robust, scalable, and standardized data architecture, including data pipelines, storage solutions, and backup/recovery plans.
- Develop digital platform functional and technical selection criteria for assessing candidate platform vendors.
- Develop Digital Twin platform functional and technical selection criteria for assessing candidate Digital Twin vendors.
- Develop AWP platform functional and technical selection criteria for assessing candidate AWP vendors.
- Identify and recommend platform integration technology solutions to compose the platform modules.
- Develop platform integration functional and technical selection criteria for assessing candidate platform integration vendors.
- Conduct market surveys and shortlist candidate Digital Twin platform vendors based on the identified functional and technical selection criteria.
- Conduct market surveys and shortlist candidate AWP platform vendors based on the identified functional and technical selection criteria.
- Conduct market surveys and shortlist candidate platform integration vendors based on the identified functional and technical selection criteria.
- Develop detailed design integration architecture, including API specifications and workflows.
- Develop high-level guidelines for data collection, storage, processing, and usage.
- Develop digital platform data governance framework, including roles and responsibilities.
- Work closely with cloud security architects and network architects to ensure proper alignment between the proposed architecture and cybersecurity mandates.
- Conduct regular reviews with program stakeholders of the platform strategy and governance framework to adapt to business needs and technological advancements.
- Develop RFPs for platform ecosystem (modules, Digital Twin suite, AWP, etc.) platform integrations.
- Develop and conduct thorough piloting procedures, security assessments, and risk analyses for the platform ecosystem.
- Develop a comprehensive platform ecosystem deployment roadmap with phased implementation plans, timelines, milestones, and KPIs.
- Develop and implement change management processes for database and applications roll-out, integration, updates, etc.
- Develop performance monitoring and logging mechanisms to track platform and integration performance and health.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, optimize resource allocation, and ensure optimal performance across the platform ecosystem/environment.
- Implement policies for data lifecycle management, from creation to archiving and deletion.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Technology (IT), Digital Transformation (DT), or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience, with at least 8 years in IT/DT/OT designing and deploying project management digital platforms.
- Proven track record of successfully implementing or leading digital platform design and deployment for complex mega project management platforms.
- Experience with relevant software and platforms related ecosystems, including but not limited to AI/ML, AR/VR/AdR, ERP, SAP, Microsoft Power BI, Digital Twin platforms, AWP platforms, and IIoT ecosystem.
- Knowledge of project controls and performance, project scheduling, health safety and environment, procurement, and material planning.
- Deep understanding and implementation experience of various cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI, etc.) and their unique strengths and limitations.
- Understanding of differences between different cloud types and operating models (edge, public, private, hybrid) and schemes (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS).
- Expertise in virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of cloud integration tools, techniques, and platforms.
- Experience in data architecture tools, API management, ETL processes, and data storage solutions.
- Extensive experience in integration strategy and architecture.
- Familiarity with monitoring and testing frameworks for integration.
- Familiarity with data analytics and business intelligence tools.
- Strong understanding of data management, governance, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Ability to develop technically sound documents (Word/Excel formats) and presentation slides.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, collaborating effectively with stakeholders across different programs.
- Fluency in English and Arabic; additional language skills are a plus.
