Employment: Full Time

Job Purpose:

• Responsible for managing all the aspects of the finance division in order to maximize the return on initially two private island assets, totaling 80keys.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Establish and implement financial policies, practices, standards, control measures and reporting systems in line with the company standards.
• Ensure the maintenance of adequate records of all assets, liabilities and transactions of the resort and related legal agreements and documents.
• Oversee costs, general accounting, and payroll and risk management.
• Ensure compliance with local legal laws and advise management of actions and potential risks.
• Support the development of revenues generating strategies focusing on overall revenues maximization.
• Ensure the implementation of periodic auditing, controls and physical inventories.
• Ensure the compliance with contract and reporting requirements of the property.
• Ensure month end reports, closing of books and reconciliations and advise the management of any deficiencies.
• Participate actively in the preparation and consolidation of forecasts and budgets and advises reviews when needed.
• Identify opportunities of creating value and challenges existing processes and encourage innovation in order to maximize financial returns.
• Continuously improve existing processes and suggest new technologies that benefit the division operations as well as the resort profitability.
• Conduct frequent departmental meetings with section heads.
• Maintain complete knowledge of the features, services, rates and promotions at the resort.
• Resolve conflicts or issues in the department.
• Respond promptly to guest concerns.
• Recognize employees’ feedback on existing policies and standards and any factors affecting their roles.
• Analyse revenues and costs and advise corrective actions through profit and loss meetings.
• Actively participate in the HR related matters of the department, recruitment, appearance, appraisal, training and development, succession plans and disciplinary procedures.
• Possess full knowledge of emergency procedures
• Participate, suggest and encourage activities that are environmentally friendly.
• Maintain the highest standard of professionalism, ethics and attitude towards clients and colleagues.
• Develop strong, productive, professional relationships with internal and external guests.
• Assist in other areas of the resort as and when required, carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned
• Comply with the guidelines and policies established in the Colleague Handbook, Business Code of Conduct and Ethics policy, resort’s regulations on fire, hygiene, health and safety
• Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene as per the resort’s grooming standards at all times
• Maintain a good rapport and working relationship with colleagues in the department and all other departments.
• Attend and contribute to meetings, department and resort trainings and other scheduled activities
• Project at all times a positive attitude.
The above is a summary of duties and as a key leader; you will be required to perform outside of those responsibilities with tasks that are relative to your position.

Requirements

Skills/Knowledge Required:

• Ability to analyse financial data, control expenses and enhances revenues in all areas of the resort.
• Complete knowledge of resort policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of local laws related to accounting and risk management.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of guests and resort.
• Financial, analytical and mathematical skills.
• Ability to focus on details and resolve numerical problems.
• Excellent English verbal and written skills, Arabic is desirable.
• Organization and prioritization skills

• Planning and implementation skills.
• Ability to prepare forecasts, financial reports, budgets and analysis.

Qualification Standards:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree, chartered accountant, majoring in finance

Experience:

• Minimum six years progressive experience in a finance management position, including two years’ experience as DOF. Island/ Resort experience preferred
