The Downstream business line is seeking an experienced Downstream Investment Advisor to join the Chemicals Business Strategy & Development Department.

The successful applicant will have worked in investment banking or management consulting in support of the evaluation and execution of mergers and acquisitions (M&A), restructuring, divestitures, and raising capital in leading international companies.

You will have been involved in conducting many aspects of transaction execution including due diligence, business planning, and business leads for commercial agreements.

The incumbent will perform the initial evaluation and screening of proposed Downstream opportunities, and a thorough investment analysis of all target acquisitions or joint ventures; working with all stakeholders to provide a comprehensive evaluation.

You will lead commercial and technical due diligence; develop key business principles, business plans, and benefit analysis; and create commercial agreements which incorporate appropriate structuring, governance, and due diligence findings.

Candidates will develop and execute a comprehensive target negotiation strategy; produce, evaluate, and propose ideal M&A and joint venture structuring options. Other tasks include assessing target company and transaction risks and developing risk mitigation plans along with developing a strategic fit analysis on target entities.

Requirements

As the successful candidate you will hold a bachelors’ degree in business administration, economics, accounting, engineering or its equivalent. MBA or CFA preferred.

You will have a minimum of 5+ years of experience, be highly knowledgeable in business development, mergers and acquisitions, and have solid experience in analyzing venturing activities such as commercialization, spin-offs, or joint venturing.
