The Role
The Draftsman will work under the close supervision of the Senior Architect and Senior Interior Designer to prepare CAD documentation for all stages of the design projects including all necessary information and data required for preparing a comprehensive set of design and documentation drawings. The candidate must possess advanced experience in architecture and interior design drafting techniques and standards as well as marked ability to interpret and utilize design specification with precision. Duties include creating, modifying and re-designing of buildings and interiors drawings, archiving, control of revisions and coordination of structural, electrical and mechanical drawings. Additional duties involve visiting sites and collecting data, sourcing and assembling details to complete architecture and interior designs, updating design database and supporting presentations. The candidate must possess advanced technical competence in the documentation of detailed design and 3D visualization software and graphic presentation skills. The ideal candidate is a tried and tested professional with multi-tasking abilities to produce fully coordinated and accurate set of drawings for construction and presentation purposes. Responsibilities
The successful candidate will have the drafting skills, technical knowledge and visualization expertise necessary to carry out the following responsibilities that are required to support the design and documentation of architecture and interior design projects:
• Visit project sites to compile measurements and data and to prepare as built site report
• Archive and update existing working drawings for buildings and interior spaces
• Source and compile data, drawing details and industry specifications that supports the architect and interior designer
• Operate AutoCAD, computer-aided drafting equipment or conventional drafting station to produce designs, working drawings, charts, forms and records
• Prepare CAD documentation for all stages of the design projects including all necessary information and data based on preliminary concepts, sketches, images, calculations, and specification sheets provide by the senior architect and the senior interior designer using best practices
• Maintain CAD drawings practices using standard layering and object description based on the CAD manual
• Draft architecture and interior drawings including context plan, site plan, elevations, sections, architectural details and system, interior wall elevations, reflected ceiling plans, windows, doors, furniture layouts, etc.
• Prepare necessary calculations dimensions and allowances for drawing development
• Coordinate and incorporate structural, electrical and mechanical drawings provided by sub-consultants to complement the in-house architecture and interior design drawings in a graphically presentable and accurate manner
• Coordinate and liaise with engineers and subcontractors to ensure accurate incorporation of all required details and data for completeness purposes
• Archive, modify and update existing and new drawings, plans and space layouts to accommodate revisions, changes and enhancements
• Incorporate safety standards, procedures and systems in construction and installation drawings
• Support the design team with the preparation of working drawings, tender drawings, construction drawings and coordination drawings.
• Update the design data base which includes AutoCAD Library, 3D presentations, images, photographs, products
• Prepare visually powerful presentation boards and images both 2D &3D using colored manual sketches and digital media-AutoCAD and 3D Max studio, Photoshop,Vray, Sketchup and InDesign
• Collect, archive and maintain material samples and industry catalogues and brochures

Requirements

Required Skills
• Expertise in AutoCAD
• Excellent drafting skills
• Excellent detailing skills
• Good knowledge of 3D Modeling software - 3D Max studio
• Good knowledge of graphic design software - Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup and InDesign
• Advanced time management and organization skills
• Ability to work independently and in teams as well as meeting deadlines
• Good communication skills both verbally and in writing
• Ability to work well under pressure

Required Experience
• Design degree, technical certificate or 6-8 years of proven experience partially with an international design firm
• Advanced experience in preparing, modifying and updating a comprehensive set of CAD drawing including all the necessary information required for design and documentation
• Excellent technical understanding related to architecture and construction- Cladding systems, Curtain Glass, MEP systems, etc.
• Extensive knowledge of technical specifications and materials related to interior design-joinery, metal and gypsum, furniture, office system furniture, etc.
• Experience in working drawings, tender drawings, construction drawings and coordination drawings
• Experience in preparing visual presentations using various graphic software
• Candidate must be in Saudi Arabia or have experience in working in GCC
