Overview
Wood is looking for an EDMS Configuration Specialist to join our team in Al Khobar on a 6-month contract supporting the NEOM project.
Responsibilities
- Set the project invitation method, defining and implementing the process.
- Align the Platform Configuration with Project Quality Management Plan, creating mail types such as RFIs, Change Requests, Variations, Extension of Time, etc. as required.
- Configuration of Project Metadata including engineering disciplines, document types, equipment classification, in line with industry best practices.
- Set up auto-numbering schemes or propose best practices methods to assign Project Document Numbers.
- Implement processes to ensure that project user accounts remain current and up to date.
- Configure WF Templates to ensure the correct information is available to the right project participants.
- Define the platform user support process and make recommendations to ensure the project is manned with the correct number of resources.
- Provide training to all participants and prepare, publish, and maintain Project User Manual.
- Recommend and configure the available EDMS Modules such as Field and Packages to align with the requirements of the project.
- Configuration of the Platform to align with the Project Work Inspection Procedure and ensure that the process is as efficient as possible, utilizing the best practices EDMS features.
- Remain up to date with the latest and planned enhancements of EDMS, maintain relationships with Oracle and other industry specialists to ensure NEOM has a voice when considering platform improvements.
Qualifications
- Technical Knowledge: EDMS Configuration Specialist must be EDMS Administrator Certified. Have an advanced understanding of an EDMS platform, its features, and functionality. Candidate must be an expert with concepts such as project setup, workflows, user management, and system configuration. Preferred candidate will have experience working within Document Control Team of a major infrastructure project.
- Expert with EDMS: Previous experience working with EDMS is required. This includes hands-on experience as an EDMS user or previous experience as an EDMS Configuration Specialist. Effectively manage EDMS and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
- Construction of Infrastructure Projects: The EDMS Configuration Specialist should have a good understanding of the construction industry and be familiar with the design and construction phases and understand the roles of different project participants. The required knowledge helps them configure EDMS to meet the specific needs of constructing infrastructure projects.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: The EDMS Configuration Specialist must be a skilled problem-solver and will be able to analyze issues, identify the root causes, and propose effective solutions. This will involve troubleshooting technical problems, resolving user issues, and improving system performance.
- Communication Skills: The EDMS Configuration Specialist must have strong communication skills and be able to effectively communicate with project stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, architects, contractors, subcontractors, and other team members. The EDMS Configuration Specialist must be well spoken, presentable, and confident in delivering training sessions to large groups of project participants.
- Organizational Skills: EDMS Configuration Specialist is responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously and will be required to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and keep track of project-related activities. Administrators must effectively manage project documentation, workflows, and user permissions.
- Continuous Learning: EDMS is an evolving platform, and the EDMS Configuration Specialist must keep up to date with updates, new features, and leverage the full potential of the software, providing effective support to the project teams.
- Education: University educated in a related discipline and other related degree courses/experience.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years in EDMS Configuration Specialist/Administrator role. Experience configuring EDMS systems for large infrastructure projects in excess of 5 billion SAR.
- Aconex experience: Aconex experience is a must.
