Job description / Role
Electrical Engineer (Oil & Gas) - Al Khobar, KSA
- Review and provide comments to draft design basis scoping papers (DBSPs).
- Monitor the progress of the design contractor and all drawings/ documents being developed are in line with the project scope and applicable standards.
- Ensure that all technical review comments applicable to their respective disciplines are incorporated in the design package.
- Identify the areas of improvement of the design contractor and articulate an action plan with the involvement of both the project engineer and the design contractor representative.
- Mentor and train client's junior engineers for their effective integration.
- Participate in design development reviews such as value engineering, HAZOP, 3D Model, among others.
- Participate in vendor drawing reviews and assist in resolving technical issues raised during the equipment or system FAT/ SAT testing.
- Contribute in the review of new/revised client engineering standards.
Requirements
- Degree Qualified Electrical Engineer with at least 15 years of experience in Major O&G Projects of which last 8 years in Conceptual Design, FEED and Detailed Engineering of Oil /Gas/ Petrochemicals Processing facilities.
- Strong knowledge of Scope Review, FEED endorsement; Equipment selection report, Design Calculations, International Codes & Standards such as: Electrical Safety, Electrical Codes, Fire Protection, etc.
- Must have a proven track record as a lead design engineer on large scale Oil and Gas projects and be capable of supervising and directing a team of engineers, designers and support personnel.
- Must have excellent communication skills and be capable of interacting with other engineering disciplines, project managers, vendors and clients.
