Electrical Helper

Job description / Role

Role Summary:

The electrical helper needs to be able to perform all the required activities related to cable preparation and installation, assistance to electricians during wiring, cabling and testing, and to support the packaging operations for centrifugal compressor and gas turbine products

Essential Responsibilities:

- Read and understand electrical drawings and specifications, including cable way and conduit layout, wiring hook up, one-line diagrams, field instruments list
- Identify all tools (hand and power) required for tasks and identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate the risks
- Cable preparation: measure, cut, label cables
- Cable installation: lay and install cables, pull wire through conduit/cable ways
- Earth cables preparation and installation
- Assist the electrical fitter in electrical conduit and cable ways preparation, drilling holes for wiring
- Assist the electrician in cable gland installation, wiring of instrumentation and junction boxes, electrical testing
- Comply with all applicable quality, health, safety, and environmental directives and regulations.

Requirements

Qualifications/Requirements:

- High School Diploma
- Knowledge of electrical tools and equipment
- Read and understand electrical drawings and specifications, including cable way and conduit layout, wiring hook up, one-line diagrams, field instruments list
- Ability to read and interpret wiring schematics & layout drawings
- Knowledge of wire/cable termination & electrical assembly
- Availability to work on 3 shifts
- Ability to work within a team.
