About the job

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced electrical inspector to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, monitoring, and ensuring that all electrical installations and construction activities comply with project specifications, codes, standards, and quality requirements. This role demands strong technical expertise, quality assurance skills, and the ability to coordinate effectively with site teams, consultants, and contractors to deliver projects to the highest standards of safety and compliance.

Key responsibilities and deliverables

• Inspect electrical installations and materials to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and international standards.
• Supervise and monitor site electrical works including lighting, power, grounding, fire alarm, low-current, and related systems.
• Verify that testing and commissioning procedures meet project and authority requirements.
• Ensure all electrical works conform to industry standards such as BS, NFPA/NEC, IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, API, and ASI.
• Review electrical shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements for compliance and quality.
• Identify and report non-conformances, recommend corrective actions, and verify their implementation.
• Coordinate inspections with consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure timely progress and compliance.
• Monitor the contractor’s adherence to safety regulations and quality assurance processes.
• Maintain detailed inspection records, test reports, and daily site logs.
• Participate in project meetings to discuss inspection results, progress, and quality-related issues.
• Support project closeout activities including final inspections, testing, and handover documentation.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience on projects of similar size and complexity, preferably within the building construction or infrastructure sectors.
• Proven experience in construction management and quality control/assurance.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, installations, and applicable codes and standards (BS, NFPA/NEC, IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, API, ASI).
• Familiarity with inspection procedures, documentation, and authority approval processes.
• Excellent analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple inspection activities.

Language proficiency requirements

Proficiency in English (spoken and written) is required.

Knowledge and functional competencies

• Strong understanding of electrical systems design, installation, and testing.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, and electrical schematics.
• Sound knowledge of construction safety standards and practices.
• Excellent teamwork, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
