Overview

Ghawar Gas Producing Department (SGGPD). SGGPD is a non-associated gas producing department. Its objective is to be the best-in-class gas producer that is driven by competent and motivated workforce to sustain the company's energy demands in a safe, reliable, efficient, environment friendly and cost-effective manner. The department also strives to achieve excellence, maintain the highest HSSE standards and adopt the cutting-edge technologies including Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0). The organization handles all corrosion aspects associated with gas producing facilities including Gas Compression Plants.

Corrosion engineering plays a major role for SGGPD to ensure safe and reliable operation for the gas production and compression facilities and sustain the production targets. The engineer will provide the required support and contribute, along with the other engineering disciplines, in all the activities to ensure efficient, enhanced and optimized gas production process including providing the required support on the department's main process functions including produces design, process safety, energy, efficiency, availability, reliability and environment related aspects as well as the technical design reviews for the current and future projects.

Key Responsibilities

You are expected to be able to perform the following:

- Design, implement and manage corrosion control and monitoring programs
- Analyze corrosion monitoring and inspection data (weight loss coupons, ER probes, bio plugs, ILI, Profile RT, UT, ACVG, CIPS and Guided wave etc.) and recommended corrective actions
- Recommend the most suitable chemical treatment package and application techniques based on lab and field trials and participated in MOC process
- Evaluate CP survey data to ensure that cathodic protection systems are functional and adequate and analyze CP designs for upgrade of new and existing ICCP & sacrificial anode systems
- Identify the damage mechanisms and assisted inspection team to develop risk-based inspection programs.
- Support maintenance team for material, welding and coating selection for existing and new plants
- Perform fitness for service analysis and assisted in engineering assessment
- Conduct integrity assessment, failure and root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
- Liaise with the energy regulators and participate in management of change review
- Prepare the scope of work for inspection activities related to corrosion monitoring of pressure equipment
- Prepare / present technical analysis and mentor junior engineers
- Update procedures and specifications related to inspection management and inspection activities and recommends repairs/operating parameters to extend the life of equipment and piping.
- Review inspection reports performed required minimum wall thickness calculations and recommended corrective / repair actions
- Identify corrosion loops and assisted RBI teams in development of RBI programs
- Perform root cause / failure investigations.
- Reviewed the metallurgy of the equipment and recommended modifications

Minimum Requirements

As a successful candidate, you should hold a Bachelor's degree or higher in Metallurgy Engineering.

You must have a minimum of 5 years' design and/or plant operations experience, preferably in the oil and gas business, such as Gas and Oil Separation Plants (GOSPs), or similar relevant process industries.

You must have Corrosion/Material engineering discipline knowledge and field experience to support and maintain day-to-day reliable operations.

You should have experience in the support of both small and large-scale capital projects.

You must have experience with using Management of change (MOC) for plant changes, SAP system, e-review and other industry software.

You must be proficient in English Language.
