Job description / Role
• Lead and manage a team of professional Structural draftsmen
• Develop designs from project specifications
• Allocate, prioritize and check the work of Structural draftsmen in his team
• Check and evaluate design and material specifications for tender
• Prepare and check material data sheets and coordinate with procurement engineer to select materials
• Coordinate with other members of the Engineering team for other trades
• Document, record and report meetings, progress of jobs and construction completions from design & validation reports from Project Engineers
• Incorporate feedback from projects and customers for design clarification and modifications during the development and construction project phases
• Manage the day-to-day modelling issues on the project as required
• Ensure the models are created in accordance with the BIM standards for the project and perform regular checks (e.g. audits) on the model to ensure his compliance with the project requirements
• Conduct regular design coordination reviews with the modelling team in coordination with the BIM coordinator and the senior mechanical engineer to identify and resolve any coordination errors or deficiencies in the models
• Participate in design review and model co-ordination workshops (to perform design review BIM use) with the consultant
Requirements
• Proficiency in written and spoken English (Arabic is a plus)
• B.Sc. in Engineering Degree
• Minimum 2 years of work experience as a Structural Design Engineer
• Experience in the Structural field of buildings and infrastructure system
• Experience in design and Shop drawing related to design office of construction company or consultant
• Microsoft office
• AutoCAD application design skills
• Specific software Application and especially Navisworks & Revit is a must
• Knowledge of Structural local Standards (SBC, Civil Defense requirement, etc.)
• Knowledge of Local & International Standards
• Proficient knowledge in Engineering and Structural Design Engineering
• Proficient in preparing detailed design specifications
• Proficient in providing detailed drafts that match to specification scope
• A robust collaborator and effective team player
• Excellent communication, people management skills and problem solving skills
• Delivery-oriented professional with proven records of delivering success
