Engineer - MEP - (Electrical)

Job description / Role

To execute and supervise site-level electrical works including installation, testing, and commissioning of HT and LT systems as per project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements. The role involves day-to-day monitoring of electrical installation activities, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with statutory and technical standards.

- Execute and monitor the installation of electrical systems including HT/LT panels, power distribution networks, internal/external lighting, earthing, and backup power systems.
- Supervise subcontractors and ensure execution as per approved GFC drawings, technical specifications, and quality standards.
- Conduct inspections of electrical installations and ensure timely rectification of snags and non-conformities.
- Support in preparation of material submittals, installation method statements, and work checklists for electrical systems.
- Assist in testing and commissioning of electrical systems including cable continuity checks, insulation resistance tests, and functional testing of equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and electrical codes during all phases of execution.

- Minimum Qualifications: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering
- Language Skills: Proficient in English; working knowledge of regional language preferred
- Years of Experience: 4–7 years
- Nature of Experience: Experience in executing electrical systems at construction sites, including HT/LT works, testing and commissioning, contractor coordination, and compliance with safety and electrical standards
- Technical Skills: Electrical installation, HT/LT panels, transformers, DG sets, cable laying and termination, lighting and power distribution, grounding systems, load calculation, voltage drop analysis, testing and commissioning, AutoCAD, MS Office, understanding of electrical codes, site supervision, safety compliance, Electrical System Installation, Lighting Installation, Power Distribution System Installation, Reconciliation, Resource Planning
- Leadership / Behavioral skills: Team coordination, communication, attention to detail, accountability, problem solving, result orientation, time management, adaptability, stakeholder engagement, safety focus
