WSP Middle East are currently looking for a Horticultural Engineering Manager to join a major project in NEOM, Saudi Arabia.

Your new role, what's involved?
* Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers, technicians, and horticultural specialists.
* Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
* Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting professional growth and development opportunities for team members.
* Coordinate workload distribution, resource allocation, and project assignments within the team.
* Oversee the planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of horticultural systems, facilities, and projects.
* Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with project goals and client requirements.
* Develop project schedules, allocate resources, and monitor progress to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
* Identify and mitigate project risks, resolve issues, and make data-driven decisions to optimize project outcomes.
* Provide technical expertise in horticultural engineering, including the design, installation, and optimization of horticultural systems.
* Review and approve design plans, specifications, and calculations to ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
* Collaborate with horticulturists, agronomists, and other stakeholders to develop innovative and sustainable horticultural solutions.
* Ensure that horticultural designs meet quality, productivity, and environmental sustainability goals.
* Technology Implementation and Innovation:
* Stay updated with emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies in horticultural engineering.
* Evaluate and implement new technologies and automation systems to improve horticultural operations and efficiencies.
* Identify opportunities for innovation, process improvements, and cost optimizations in horticultural engineering practices.
* Collaborate with research and development teams to explore and implement cutting-edge techniques and technologies.
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, project managers, horticulturalists, and vendors, to understand requirements, address concerns, and ensure successful project outcomes.
* Communicate project progress, technical issues, and recommendations effectively to stakeholders at various levels.
* Foster strong relationships with clients, vendors, and contractors, ensuring effective collaboration and adherence to project specifications and timelines.
* Establish and enforce quality control processes and standards to ensure the delivery of high-quality horticultural systems and facilities.
* Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and environmental sustainability practices.
* Conduct periodic audits, inspections, and testing to verify compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.
* Implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality and sustainability of horticultural operations.
* Develop and manage project budgets, including cost estimation, expenditure tracking, and financial reporting.
* Optimize resource allocation, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to maximize project efficiency.
* Monitor project expenses, control costs, and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or productivity.

Requirements

We'd love to hear from you if you have:
* Bachelor's or master's degree in Horticultural Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field.
* 15+ years of post-qualification experience
* Extensive experience in horticultural engineering, including the design, development, and maintenance of horticultural systems and facilities.
* Proven experience in leading and managing engineering teams and projects.
