Employment: Full Time

A large bank in Riyadh is looking to hire an Executive Director Credit Risk to join its team.

The Executive Director Credit Risk will be responsible for the following:
* Primary credit officer for KSA: credit officer approving and "owning" credit exposure to Saudi corporates and financial institutions (whether booked in the local branch, subsidiary or outside of KSA; whether approved at his/her level or requiring a higher level ratification from Dubai/London; for all products (e.g. loans, trade finance instruments, derivatives, various trading operations);
* Leadership in structuring, negotiating and documenting new transactions including syndicated loans, bilateral loans and complex derivatives for conventional and Islamic transactions.
* Overseeing preparation of credit applications for credit transactions by analysts/associates based elsewhere detailing all key risks (whether business, industry or transaction orientated) and proposing specific recommendations, dealing with the execution process for new transactions (including credit terms in legal documentation with the client) and with annual reviews, and ensuring full compliance with local regulatory requirements, required credit file maintenance.
* At times evaluating credit applications, to produce a distilled credit view and firm recommendation.
* Undertaking analysis of industries and relevant peer groups within them to determine key industry drivers and how these affect individual market participants. Such analysis to be factored into client specific or industry wide credit reports.
* Managing the credit transactions process; from the approval process and communicating with various involved groups (IB coverage officers, Corporate Bankers and product groups (FX, Derivatives, Debt Capital Markets and Commodities)) through to arranging for processing of details and changes into the bank's own internal systems. Leading the documentation of new transactions and amendments to existing transactions in conjunction with legal counsel.
* Facilitating flow business by establishing documentation and maintaining limits for trade finance and derivatives (e.g. interest rate swaps, FX, Repos, commodities)
* Restructuring and management of stressed credits, working closely with the bank's Special Credits Group

Requirements

* Successful candidate is likely to be university qualified in economics, finance or a related area to the level of at least a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with excellent academic results. Graduate or post graduate education at a foreign business school or academic institution would be advantageous.
* At least [five] years work experience in a credit related analytical role with an international financial institution, preferably in credit research or a credit risk department, but possibly in investment/corporate banking, ratings advisory, etc.
* Strong understanding of the purpose and techniques of credit analysis, combined with good judgement and the ability to look beyond quantitative data in forming an analytical view, to construct concise and coherent credit assessments for presentation both verbally and in writing.
