Overview

We are seeking an Exploration Data Analyst to join the Exploration Geospatial & Data Management Solutions Division.

The Exploration Geospatial & Data Management Solutions Division is responsible for overseeing the development and use of data systems within Saudi Aramco, ensuring effective data management, formulating data capturing, governance, quality, analytics as well as automation techniques. Also, managing Exploration's structured, unstructured and geospatial data.

The Exploration Data Analyst primary role is to visualize and interpret data, analyze results and take steps to ensure that the data is governed and of good quality.

Key Responsibilities

As a successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:
- Design and execute a comprehensive data quality strategy aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
- Identify, analyze, and correct data defects across exploration operational business processes, including: data validation, cleansing, and normalization.
- Develop and implement data quality controls, such as data profiling, data monitoring, and data certification, to prevent errors and inconsistencies.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including, Upstream Data Center, IT, Operations, and Business Units, to promote data quality awareness and best practices.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure data quality improvements and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in data quality management
- Ability to fully grasp the complexity of data management fix data quality risks.
- Proven analytical skills and Problem-solving attitude.
- Enforce guidelines for data QC through generating of business rules.
- Strong understanding of databases and data analysis procedures
- Mentor young professionals.

Requirements:

As a successful candidate you will hold a:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited university.
- A Minimum of 8 years of experience in data analysis or data management, preferably in the oil and gas exploration industry.
- Knowledge of using geology and geophysics software tools is a plus.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the Data Management Association (DAMA).
- Proven track record of successfully implementing data quality initiatives.
- Knowledge of relational and dimensional database models.
- Ability to write complex SQL queries.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with Business Intelligence /Big Data /data analytic and quality tools and technologies, such as: data profiling, data validation, and data visualization.
- Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) certification is a plus.
