Fire Protection Engineer

DAR Engineering, a leading design and engineering consulting organization in Saudi Arabia engaged in power generation, electrical transmission and distribution, health care, and high-rise buildings.

Job Purpose:

We are seeking fire protection engineers and inspectors specializing in fire prevention, system maintenance, and inspection to work with a power utility, primarily involved in power generation, transmission, and distribution in the Riyadh region, Saudi Arabia.

The successful candidates will ensure compliance with fire safety regulations, conduct regular inspections, and oversee the maintenance of fire protection systems to safeguard critical power infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities/Deliverables:

• Develop and implement fire prevention strategies to protect power infrastructure from fire hazards.
• Conduct fire risk assessments and identify vulnerabilities in substations, transmission lines, and power plants.
• Conduct audits, inspections, and tests to verify the readiness of all fire protection unit equipment, vehicles, and firefighting protection equipment.
• Perform routine inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire protection systems.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA, IEC, SASO, and Saudi Civil Defense regulations.
• Ensure all fire protection systems align with national and international fire codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
• Ensure all fire protection equipment remains fully operational and meets regulatory standards.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, fire safety reports, and approval submissions.
• Conduct fire drills, training sessions, and emergency response planning for project personnel.
• Perform periodic inspections and testing of fire protection equipment, ensuring operational readiness.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum eight (8) years of experience in fire protection systems maintenance and inspection.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
• Certification in CFPS or NFPA-related credentials is preferred.
• Good communication skills, both in presentation and documentation.
• Attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent reporting, documentation, and coordination skills.
• Good command of English.

• In-depth knowledge of NFPA, SASO, IEC, and Saudi Civil Defense regulations.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
