WSP is looking for a GIS Specialist to provide geographical information system support to the major project in Jeddah, by working closely with the Project Controls, Design, Construction, and key role-players / stakeholders to develop and maintain the GIS database in support of the Programme needs.

A typical week would include:
• Creating an effective GIS Programme solution by ensuring hardware, software, data, people and processes are all aligned
• Day-to-day operations of managing an effective GIS solution - CAD / GIS submissions, review GIS data to ensure it is accurate and to standard, update GIS information in the system, plan and coordinate GIS activities
• Manage geospatial database and develop maps, aerial photography, etc.
• Ensure full compliance to GIS industry standards and formats; ensure effective integration of workflow, both internally and with external partners
• Generate a variety of GIS outputs according to Programme needs - standard and custom maps, map series, map templates, shapefiles, graphics, tables and reports
• Apply industry design principles to ensure all outputs are to standard - legends, insets and reference information
• Liaise and collaborate with external providers and resources to stay abreast of GIS industry development and tools for the betterment of the project
• Migration of existing information and systems over to GIS System
• Liaise and collaborate with key role-players, viz. IT Cloud Specialist, Enterprise Architect, Security Specialist, IT Infrastructure Specialist, Project Management Information Specialist and ERP Specialist to ensure the GIS Solution integrates effectively with other areas and technologies and caters for their functionality needs
• Ensure there is a clear and updated strategy and roadmap, along with all development stages and requirements, ensuring proactive monitoring and mapping of programme and organisation GIS needs at all times
• Liaises with external providers / vendors regarding support, functionality, troubleshooting and shaping/mapping of overall GIS solution
• Active troubleshooting, testing and support to resolve all GIS system and user issues
• Overall responsibility, as GIS subject matter expert (SME), to ensure a complete fit-for-purpose GIS solution is designed, implemented and operated at all times

Requirements

We'd love to hear from you if you have:
• Bachelor's Degree in one of Geography, Computer Science, Surveying, Engineering or Earth Science
• Minimum of 10 years' experience in the field of GIS and GIS Systems
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in environment and sustainability; understanding of the integration of economic, social and environmental aspects to effective and sustainable development

3 to 5 years' experience in utilizing software tools and applications, including but not limited to:
- ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro)
- ArcGIS Online
- ArcGIS Enterprise (Portal, Server)
- Creating Web Maps and Geo Apps in ArcGIS Online and Portal
- Developing Python Scripts using ArcPy

• Very proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Knowledge of GIS Software, Systems and Tools available in industry
• Strong system architecture and troubleshooting working knowledge
• Experience with data management
• Experience documenting and maintaining configuration and process information
• Knowledge and experience in performing information security practices in the management and delivery of GIS Services
• Ability to work under pressure and operate in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
• Ability to work in and as a part of a Specialist Team to ensure an overall ICT Solution for the organization and project
• Providing training and skills transfer to support staff and identified areas
• Thorough working knowledge and subject matter expert (SME) relating to GIS Solutions - w.r.t design, implementation, customizing, shaping, analytics, troubleshooting and overall solution
