Hadoop Specialist

Job description / Role

- Manage Hadoop environment setup to store and process big data in a distributed environment across clusters.
- Manage Hadoop HDFS (format the configured HDFS file system, open namenode (HDFS server).
- Manage Hadoop MapReduce framework (write applications to process huge amounts of data, in parallel, on large clusters of commodity hardware in a reliable manner).
- Manage Hadoop streaming utility to create and run Map/Reduce jobs with any executable or script as the mapper and/or the reducer.
- Manage Hadoop Multi Node Cluster environment.
- Scales up from single servers to a number of machines, each offering local computation and storage.

Requirements

- First degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
- Prior exposure to Core Java, database concepts, and any of the Linux operating system flavors.
- Minimum (5-8) years’ experience on management of Hadoop (Big Data Analysis Framework).
