Job Description
- Oversee daily baking operations and ensure the production of high-quality baked goods.
- Develop and test new recipes to expand the bakery's product offerings.
- Manage and train a team of bakers, ensuring adherence to recipes and quality standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Coordinate with other departments to meet production targets and deadlines.
- Implement cost control measures to minimize waste and maximize profitability.
- Conduct regular quality checks on finished products.
- Handle customer inquiries and special orders.
- Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new techniques and ingredients.
- Schedule staff shifts and manage time-off requests.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to promote new products.
- Ensure proper maintenance and operation of baking equipment.
- Resolve any issues or conflicts within the baking team.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Baker or in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of baking techniques and ingredients.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Creative and innovative mindset for developing new recipes.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a kitchen environment.
- Ability to lift heavy bags of flour and other baking supplies.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
- Proficiency in using baking equipment and tools.
- Basic computer skills for inventory management and scheduling.
- Formal training or certification in baking is a plus.
- Passion for baking and a positive attitude.
