Role summary

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven head of collections to lead our debt recovery and collections function. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in minimizing financial risk, improving cash flow, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Working in a dynamic fintech startup environment, the head of collections will develop and implement strategies, manage a team, and collaborate closely with internal departments to optimize recovery performance while maintaining a customer-centric approach.

Key responsibilities

Develop and execute collection strategies for early, mid, and late-stage delinquent mortgage accounts.

Monitor and manage daily operations of the collections team, including setting targets, coaching, and performance reviews.

Analyze collection performance data and provide actionable insights to senior leadership and credit function.

Ensure compliance with SAMA regulations and local financial laws regarding debt recovery and customer communication.

Work closely with the credit, legal, product, and customer service teams to improve risk assessment and collection outcomes.

Implement and leverage digital tools, automation, and AI-driven solutions to enhance efficiency and recovery rates.

Handle negotiations, settlements, and repayment plans with delinquent borrowers.

Create and maintain documentation and reporting systems to track collections KPIs and operational metrics.

Qualifications & skills

Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, law, or a related field.

Minimum 5–7 years of experience in collections, preferably within mortgages, banking, or fintech sectors.

Proven leadership and team management experience.

Deep understanding of the Saudi regulatory environment, especially SAMA guidelines related to collections.

Strong analytical and reporting skills, with proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools.

Excellent communication and negotiation abilities in both Arabic and English.

Ability to work in a high-growth, fast-paced startup environment.

Desirable skills (optional 1-2 requirements)

Experience with mortgage portfolios or real estate-backed financial products.

Knowledge of machine learning applications or AI in credit risk and collections.

Understanding of customer lifecycle management in a digital lending ecosystem.
