Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

My client a leading consultancy in the region has an urgent requirement for a Head of Logistics to be based in Riyadh.

Duties and Responsibilities

Planning and Programming
* Set-up of the office and or site so that the workforce, plant and materials can move around efficiently and safely. (e.g. hoarding, gates, site accommodation, cranes, hoists, security, temporary services, material delivery and waste management strategy)
* Plan internal and external logistics routes through the project phases focusing on separation of vehicles, machinery and people.
* Lay down areas and offloading points.
* Knowledge in the usage of key assets such as hoists to ensure planned assets meet the needs of the programme/schedule.
* Working knowledge of key assets such as scaffolding, to adhere with the programme.
* Organising routes through the site, off-loading points, and so on.

Mobilisation
* Can create operational procedures and method statements.
* Can organise site inductions, ensure induction records are securely stored.
* Ability to create a schedule of logistics meetings and ensure logistics is represented at site meetings.
* Has installed and managed welfare facilities and other site accommodation.
* Has implemented Traffic management internally and externally, weighbridges and road network cleanliness.

Supply Chain Management

* Experience in liaising with contractors and subcontractors in accordance with the programme.
* Ability to plan and integrate with key contractors to meet the needs of the planned programme and de-confliction of on site space and time where appropriate.
* Be capable of managing sub-contractors to deliver their package of goods or services.
* Utilise business management system procedures.
* Record keeping and key performance indicator (KPI) production.
* Can ensure materials are brought to site as and when required.
* Can ensure waste is kept to a minimum and that disposal procedures are implemented.
* Implemented variation control and early communication of foreseeable change.
* Assisted in the evaluation of potential logistic suppliers and appropriate delivery management booking systems.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

* Degree qualified in a relevant discipline from a reputable University.
* Institutional membership. Full membership of recognised and relevant Professional Institution. (CSCS / SMSTS / SSSTS)
* Minimum of 20 years management experience, with 5 to 8 years in a relevant senior role.
* Strong Safety/Quality ethos.
* High levels of personal credibility and gravitas.
* Strong leadership ability with a dynamic mind-set.
* Ability to establish and maintain trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders and ability to influence decision making across all levels.
* Ability to demonstrate strong commercial acumen combined with an analytical, creative and pro-active mind-set.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong cultural awareness.
