Job overview

The British International School of Jeddah (BISJ) is a leading co-educational, not-for-profit international school educating over 1,300 students aged 2 to 18. With a distinctive culture, strong reputation, and commitment to excellence across a broad range of academic, artistic, sporting, and cultural endeavours, our school is a dynamic and diverse community with many strengths.

With the appointment of Helen Olds as our new Director from August 2025, BISJ is entering an exciting new chapter, building on its proud history. We now seek an inspirational Head of Primary to help define and deliver the next stage of our educational vision, leading our Primary School with purpose and contributing strategically to the school’s position as a leader in international education in Saudi Arabia.

The successful candidate will lead and shape the next stage of development across our thriving Primary School, ensuring that every child experiences a cohesive, engaging, and high-quality curriculum that promotes excellent progress and strong outcomes. Working closely with an experienced and talented leadership team, our new Head of Primary will build on firm foundations to drive improvement and innovation across all areas of Primary education.

We are seeking a collaborative, forward-thinking, and learning-focused leader who brings both strategic clarity and a deep understanding of outstanding primary practice. The appointee will have a proven track record of successful leadership experience, ideally gained in similar international schools to BISJ, and the ability to inspire teams, manage change, and foster a culture of high expectations and professional growth.

BISJ is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), International Child Protection Certificate (ICPC), or equivalent.
