Health and Safety Officer

Job description / Role

A leading contractor is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Officer to oversee and implement health and safety policies and procedures for our hospitality projects in a remote location in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will have previous experience working on hospitality projects and will be responsible for ensuring compliance with local and international health and safety regulations. The position will be based on-site and the candidate must be willing to work in remote locations.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement and maintain the company's health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with local and international regulations.
• Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure all safety measures are in place.
• Ensure that all employees are trained on health and safety policies and procedures, and monitor compliance.
• Investigate accidents and incidents to determine the root cause and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure all employees are aware of emergency procedures.
• Review and approve risk assessments and method statements.
• Liaise with contractors, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure that health and safety requirements are met.
• Maintain accurate records of health and safety inspections, incidents, and training.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure that health and safety standards are maintained.

Salary:
SAR 10,000 to 18,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
Additional benefits: Negotiable depending on experience

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or a related field.
• At least 7 years of experience working as a Health and Safety Officer, preferably in the hospitality industry.
• Knowledge of local and international health and safety regulations.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Fluency in English and Arabic.
• Must be based in Saudi Arabia
