HSE Engineer

Role:

We are currently looking for a HSE Engineer who is responsible for ensuring a safe, healthy, and compliant working environment on construction projects. The role focuses on implementing HSE policies, monitoring site activities, ensuring compliance with legal and client requirements, and promoting a strong safety culture across all project stakeholders. The HSE Engineer works closely with project teams, contractors, and consultants to prevent accidents, reduce risks, and ensure safe execution of works throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Implement project-specific HSE plans, policies, and procedures
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, client HSE requirements, and international standards
• Conduct regular site safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments
• Identify hazards and recommend corrective and preventive actions
• Monitor contractor HSE performance and enforce safety compliance
• Review and approve method statements, risk assessments, and work permits
• Conduct site safety inductions, toolbox talks, and HSE training sessions
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; prepare detailed reports
• Monitor proper use of PPE and safe working practices on site
• Ensure emergency response plans are implemented and tested
• Maintain HSE records, reports, statistics, and documentation
• Participate in HSE meetings and coordination reviews
• Promote safety awareness and continuous improvement on site
• Report HSE performance, violations, and risks to project managemen

• Degree or diploma in Engineering, Safety, or related field
• 5–8 years HSE experience in construction projects
• Experience in PMC / consultancy or construction supervision preferred
• NEBOSH IGC certification (preferred)
• Knowledge of local regulations and international HSE standards
• Strong communication and reporting skills
