Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Kentz, a member of the SNC-Lavalin Group, are currently looking for HSSE Officers for a project in Saudi Arabia.

Responsibilities:
- Maintain standards of HSE and comply with the company’s Health, Safety & Environment management system requirements.
- Take reasonable care of one’s own health and safety and that of others in the workplace.
- Follow and maintain company standards of quality in accordance with company Quality System requirement.
- Understand the requirements of project HSE Plan to ensure project HSE plan and company IMS HSE management systems are implemented.
- Perform HSE induction for all new employees in line with Company and Project site HSE rules and regulations in the language understood by them.
- Assist Senior HSE Officer in scheduling, arranging and delivering HSE and B2B training effectively to site employees.
- Prepare B2B HSE training record using training passport in combination with training stickers and attendance sheets.
- Communication of HSE Policy, applicable legal requirements, HSE information and lessons learned time to time.
- Participate in and facilitate preparation, review and modifications of risk assessments as required; for all project activities and facilities.
- Assist Supervisors to complete accident and incident forms for on-site and off-site accidents related to project employees, vehicles.
- Assist Senior HSE Officer in conducting emergency drills for identified emergencies on project site as per required frequency.
- Ensure waste is segregated, stored and disposed properly and log maintained.
- Perform inspection of fire detection and fire fighting equipments regularly and report findings to concern in time for corrective actions.
- Perform Level 1 HSE inspections and ensure Senior Management, Level 2 and Level 3 inspections are performed.
- Monitor work area environment through the pro-active enforcement of HSE rules and regulations.

Requirements

- Diploma or Bachelors Degree preferably science or technical based discipline.
- 3 to 5 years related work experience including 1 to 2 years in similar size and nature of projects.
- HSE qualifications recognized locally or internationally such as OSHA and NEBOSH.
- IOSH, Industrial Safety diploma governed by respective government organization.
- Knowledge of OHSAS: 18001, ISO 14001.
- Computer literate – proficient in MS Office.
- Supervisory skills.
- Inter-personnel skills.
- Investigation skills.
- Ability to write reports as required.
- Knowledge of internal and external auditing process would be an advantage.
- Effective communication skills.
- Presentation skills.
- First aid training would be an advantage.
- Proficiency in client policies and procedures would be an advantage.
