Employment: Full Time

The ICT&S department provides consultancy to the telecommunications, IT and electronic surveillance security sectors. The department has a regional remit and is currently working on projects in Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain as well as in the UAE (Dubai and Abu Dhabi).

The department is new to the region and is expanding on the back of new business won and is expected to continue growing steadily. The role of a Project Security Engineer would be to take responsibility for designs in accordance with the project requirements and national and international standards.

We are looking for a highly-motivated Telecoms / IT/ SCS engineer to be based Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Responsibilities:
- To report to the Head of ICT&S on technical progress of projects.
- To produce preliminary and detailed designs, including Telecommunications, Data, IPTV, SMATV, AV, BMS and Electronic Safety and Security, in conjunction with consultants and other stakeholders.
- Co-ordinate designs with internal architectural, MEP and structural departments.
- Participate in project design and coordination meetings
- Attend regular client meetings as part of design team representing Atkins ICT&S throughout the region as and where required.
- Assist with the putting together of commercial internal and external bids.
- Prepare budget estimates.
- Contribute to the production of tender documentation.
- To ensure that all design work meets with the relevant technical standards.
- To provide Head of department with summary reports as required.
- Carry out site inspections and witnessing testing and commissioning.

In addition, you should have excellent interpersonal skills, communicate effectively (both verbally and in the written sense) and be capable of presenting technical and presentation material to clients and the project team.

Requirements

- Current member of the Building Industry Consulting Services International (BICSI) or a desire to seek membership
- Knowledge and experience of the design of Structured Cabling Systems (Fibre and Copper), wired/wireless IP networks and telephony systems.
- Knoweldge of designing ICT&S systems including Telecommunications, Data, IPTV, SMATV, AV, BMS and Electronic Safety and Security.
- Knowledge of local service providers standards and requirements
- Excellent written and spoken English with the ability to write clear and precise technical reports
- Ability to demonstrate commercial awareness associated with business activities in the region
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Highly-motivated
- Excellent presentation skills
- Ability to produce under pressure

Desirable:
- Experience of preparing commercial bids
- Understanding of cable infrastructure designs
- Understanding of AutoCAD
- Supervisory experience
- Sound Byte
