Major Duties / Responsibilities

• Report to Responsible care section manager and perform duties as per Industrial Hygiene program requirement
• Provide day-to-day technical advice, expertise and direction to SIPCHEM facilities to ensure compliance with legislative requirements, industry and company standards
• Build workplace assessments to identify, quantify and control risks to people, property and equipment and identify, mitigate chemical, physical, biological and ergonomics issues
• Engage in the development and implementation of hygiene programs and processes that support the business
• Collaborate with other key groups and departments, in safety committees and with regulatory authorities
• Perform statistical analyses from the Industrial Hygiene database
• Incorporate exposure assessment strategies in quantifying health hazards and verifying controls during ongoing operations and maintenance activities
• Work with diverse groups and various subject matter experts to implement or sustain Industrial Hygiene programs
• Engage front line leaders and workers in evaluation, control, communication and education
• Craft program effectiveness evaluations in assigned business areas
• Lead Protective Equipment trials in various business units across various business unit and develop associated implementation plans
• Execute annual work plan sampling
• Develop and monitor Industrial Hygiene KPIs
• Coordinate with external parties for effective IH program implementation

Requirements

About the Candidate

• At least Bachelor in Chemical Engineering with preferably certification in industrial Hygiene from ACGIH USA.
• Related Work Experience (type and years):
• Minimum 8 years in a petrochemical company or oil and gas.
• Must be conversant with ACGIH and OSHA industrial hygiene requirements.
• Language skills
• Strong English language in Writing, Reading and spoken

Commercial operation of these plants is scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2009. The launch of these additional facilities demonstrates the company's aggressive expansion program, which aims to make it one of the largest, fully-integrated, petrochemical complexes in the Middle East, owned and operated by the private sector.
